The first person to connect Joule to a WiFi network is the owner. In almost all cases, this is you! Only the owner will be able to connect Joule to WiFi; any other users will need to pair with Joule over Bluetooth, using either the owner’s ChefSteps account or their own. If you lend Joule to a friend or family member to use with their own ChefSteps account(s), you won’t receive cook notifications.
WiFi is unavailable because I’m not Joule’s owner.
If you saw this alert while trying to connect to WiFi, it may be because you are using a Joule registered to another user. In that case, you can still use this Joule with Bluetooth. If you intend to connect to WiFi, you can ask the owner to disconnect Joule from within their Joule app (see instructions below), or you can sign in with the owner’s chefsteps.com username and password.
Have set up more than one ChefSteps account and are not logged into the one that is the WiFi owner? If that's the case, log into the account that was originally set up to use Joule with WiFi. Are you sharing your Joule at home with multiple people / phones / tablets? Make sure everyone is logged into the same account that is set up as the WiFi owner.
If you are the owner / new owner and are unable to disconnect Joule using the previous username and password, we suggest you perform a factory reset and pair again. To perform a factory reset, follow the instructions here.
