Assuming we're heating about 6 quarts of water from 60 °F to 140 °F and Joule operates at almost 99% power efficiency with approximately 1100 watts, you can expect it will take around 15-20 minutes to heat.
Other factors that can affect the overall heating time:
- How much water is in the container? More water equals longer heating time.
- What is the container made out of? Different materials will dissipate heat at different rates which can affect the time to heat the water.
- How well insulated is the container? The better insulated, the shorter the heating time as it reduces overall heat dissipation. Using a hot pad on the bottom of the container and/or covering the top of the container can also help reduce heat dissipation.
