Are you unable to turn Joule on or start a cook? Please consider the following:
When you plug Joule in, is the LED light on top of Joule on?
If the LED light is not on, please try the following:
- Try plugging Joule into another available outlet. If it powers on, then try another device in the original outlet to confirm that the original outlet was the issue.
- Please check the outlet to see if a GFCI (ground-fault circuit interrupter) has been tripped. If it has been tripped, please press the Reset button on the outlet and plug Joule back in to see if it will now power on.
If the LED light is on, please note the color and state of the light (blinking, pulsing, solid).
- If the LED is solid white, please check the following:
- Have you already paired/connected with Joule? If so, please fully restart the Joule app, verify that Joule has reconnected, and attempt to start a new cook.
- If Joule is not circulating or heating, please refer to the following article for additional steps: My Joule won’t circulate or is not heating.
- If your phone/tablet is having difficulty communicating with Joule via the app, you may need to set up a fresh pairing/connection. Please follow the instructions here to do so: Bluetooth or WiFi not connecting? Try this first!
- If the LED is anything other than solid white, please do the following:
- Unplug Joule, wait for a minute or two, and plug back in. If the LED is now solid white, please refer to No. 1, above.
- If the LED is still anything other than solid white, attempt to clear that state by starting a new cook via the Joule app.
- If all else fails, then please attempt a factory reset of Joule by following the instructions here: What is a factory reset, and how do I perform one?
